A thousand kilometers birding trip, crossing by land Pampas grasslands, Delta of Paraná river, Chaco forests, the huge Iberá wetlands and the tropical atlantic rainforests (amazonian east jungle)
This tour will take you from the Pampas around Buenos Aires to the jungle of Iguazu Falls, across a wide variety of subtropical environments like the Parana River Delta, the native palms forest El Palmar, the great warm wetlands of the Esteros del Ibera (Corrientes, then the Chaco forest and the Tropical jungle in Misiones.
As your local guides we will endeavour to give you a good understanding of the wonderful biodiversity of the region and better knowledge of nature's great interwoven net in this continent.

Day 1 (Depending on the time of arrival):
Arrival, reception by the guide at Buenos Aires, and transfer to hotel. Brief city tour and observation around the square of peridomestic species that will accompany the group during all the trip (Rufous Hornero, national bird, the Rufous-bellied Thrush, Great Keskadee,Doves, etc.) Welcome dinner. Night in Buenos Aires.
Day 2 Depart to Delta of Paraná, visiting Villa Paranacito and ceibas. Birding on wetlands al rivers, knowing their great diversity of herons, ducks, rails, storks sandpipers, etc. Night in a lodge in Ceibas
Day 3 In the same area we'll visit a diferent landscape, going to Chaco forests and grasslands. Great oportunities for spinetails, woopeckers, cuckoos, hawks woodcreepers, warblers and finches. Night in a lodge in Ceibas
Day 4 Today we shall visit the "campo" area, where among farms are still some areas of high grasslands, looking at seedeaters, rheas and tinamous. Towards evening we will come into the town of Liebig.
Day 5 Today we travel to the city of Mercedes (Corrientes Prov) arriving for lunch. Aftewards we go on a short trip of 120 Km through grassland and the subtropical Chaco area of influence taking our time to make countless stops to find Storks, Egrets, Tinamous and Rheas, Streamer- tailed Tyrant. We shall be arriving in the evening at our destination: Colonia Carlos Pellegrini on the Ibera Lagoon
Day 6:In the morning we will take a boat trip on Ibera Lagoon, visiting islands and canals in the marshes, observing lots of fully protected species as Ibera Wetlands Provincial Park is the largest and richest reserve in Argentina. You can find a lot of herons and bitterns, Aningas, King-fishers, Southern Screamer, Carau, and Tanager. At the same time we will see a lot of Carpinchos, the largest rodent in the world and yacares or alligatos that are now quite protected, and beautiful Swamp Deer.
Day 7: This day you can have some free time in the morning preparing for the visit to a nearby ranch where the gauchos perform traditional farming activities. We go by car and birdwatching on the way we may see the elusive Streamer-tailed Tyrant, Black-and-white Monjita and Yellow Cardinals among others. We arrive at noon to "Camba Trapo",the owners are a family, mixture of Guarani Indians and Swiss settlers. We will enjoy a traditional "asado" before returning in the afternoon to Pellegrini for a horse outing riding that permits us to enter the low swamps with palm trees, which can only be accessed this way. The ride will have a minimum of difficulty and is optional. Night at Pellegrini.
Day 8: Early morning we make a last visit around here before going north by pickups to Puerto Iguazu surrounded by Rainforests. We shall get there in time to see some species before dark, as Anis and Coockos, toucans, humming birds and tanagers. Night in Puerto Iguazu
Day 9: This day we will visit the famous Iguazu National Park. We spend the morning visiting the Macuco area on a jungle path that allows us to find much of the diversity of birds which include different parrots, Trogons and Tangaras. In the afternoon we visit the famous Iguazu Falls. There are a number of circuits that require all afternoon for this trip, including the Great Dusky Swifts living in the falls and hopefully the Plumbeous Kites. Night in Puerto Iguazu
Day 10: We visit in the morning the most unknown area in Iguazú National Park: the rainforest and its species. This would be the best place to find antbirds, tytiras, antshrikes and higher predators in the South American jungle. The forest also has large number of mammals, frogs, beetles and a host of tropical diversity. Night in Puerto Iguazu.
Day 11 Arounf the lodg in the rainforest is plenty of birds and animals in the rainforests. We'll have time to walk in the trails and increase our list! Night in a lodge inside the rainforest
Day 12 Urugua-i Natural reserve, a highland with a diffferent kind of forest, and better opportunities for the elusive Jaguar. Night in a lodge inside the rainforest
Day 13 TYhis days we'll have a optional kayak trip in Iguazú river and more expriences around the lodge. Night in a lodge inside the rainforest
Day 14: Tavel throug the rout inside Iguazú National Park, coming back to Iguazú town. Morning visit to an urban place: the garden of the Hummingbirds, a particular initiative of interaction between man and nature. Then there will be time to explore the city and shopping before lunch. From there all passengers take the flight (with option of returning by bus) to Buenos Aires.
